ශ්‍රී ලංකා නාවික හමුදා මැරීන් බලඇණියට අනුයුක්තව පුහුණුව සාර්ථකව අවසන් කළ එම බලඇණියේ හත්වන (07) බඳවා ගැනීමට අයත් නිලධාරීන් සිව් දෙනෙකු (04) සහ නාවිකයින් විසි දෙදෙනෙකු (22) හට ලාංඡන පැළඳවීම නාවික හමුදාධිපති, වයිස් අද්මිරාල් නිශාන්ත උළුගේතැන්න ගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් සිදු කෙරිණි.
සාමාජිකයින් 164 දෙනෙකුගෙන් සමන්විතව 2016 වර්ෂයේ දී ප්‍රථම වරට ස්ථාපිත වූ ශ්‍රී ලංකා නාවික හමුදා මැරීන් බලඇණිය මේ වන විට මෙම බඳවා ගැනීම ද ඇතුළුව, බඳවා ගැනීම් 7 ක් යටතේ නිලධාරින් සහ මැරීන් භටයන් 632 දෙනෙකුගෙන් සමන්විත බල ඇණියක් ලෙස ක්‍රමයෙන් වර්ධනය වී ඇත.
ඒ අනුව, මාස නවයක් (09) පුරා පැවැත්වනු ලබන අති දුෂ්කර වූ මැරීන් පුහුණුව සඳහා ස්ව කැමැත්තෙන් අනුයුක්ත වූ නාවික පුද්ගලයින් 33 දෙනෙකුගෙන් සමන්විත වූ කණ්ඩායමකින් ආරම්භ කළ හත්වන (07) වන බඳවා ගැනීමේ පුහුණු පාඨමාළාව, සාර්ථකව අවසන් කිරීමට සමත් වූ නාවික පුද්ගලයින් 26 දෙනෙකු වෙත අභිමානවත් මැරීන් බලඇණි ලාංඡන පැළඳවීම මෙලෙස නාවික හමුදාධිපති විසින් සිදු කෙරිණි. තවද, පුහුණුව තුළ සුවිශේෂි කුසලතා දැක් වූ නාවික පුද්ගලයන් හට කුසලාන ප්‍රදානය කිරීම ද මෙහිදී නාවික හමුදධිපතිගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් සිදු කෙරිණි. ඒ අනුව, හත්වන මැරීන් බලඇණි බඳවා ගැනීමේ පාඨමාළාවේ විශිෂ්ඨතම මැරීන් සාමාජිකයා සහ සියළුම විෂයන්ගෙන් වැඩිම ලකුණු ලබාගත් සාමාජිකයා වශයෙන් ලුතිනන් පිඑච්එච් ජයතුංග, දක්ෂතම ඉලක්කකරු වශයෙන් බල නැවි ඩබ්ජිඒ ජිවංක, දක්ෂතම පිහිණුම්කරු ලෙස බල නැවි ඊඑම්එම්ඩි විජේබණ්ඩාර සහ දක්ෂතම ශාරීරික යෝග්‍යතාවය හිමි සාමාජිකයා වශයෙන් සාමාන්‍ය නැවි එච්එම්ආර්එම් හේරත් කුසලාන හිමිකර ගන්නා ලදී. එමෙන්ම මෙම ලාංඡන පැළඳවීමේ අවස්ථාව, නාවික හමුදා මැරීන් බලඇණියේ හැකියාවන් සහ දක්ෂතාවයන් විදහා දැක්වෙන ආකර්ශනීය සංදර්ශනයකින් ද සමන්විත විය.
මෙහිදී, සාර්ථකව පුහුණුව අවසන් කළ නාවික පුද්ගලයන් ඇමතූ නාවික හමුදාධිපති, ඉදිරි නාවික හමුදා රාජකාරීන් කාර්යක්‍ෂමව ඉටුකිරීම සඳහා ස්වයං පුහුණුවීම්, අධ්‍යයනයන් සහ අත්දැකීම් තුලින් තම දැනුම වර්ධනය කර ගැනීම සඳහා කටයුතු කල යුතු බවත්, නවීන ක්‍රමෝපායන් සහ යුධ උපක්‍රම පිළිබඳව මනා අවබෝධයෙන්, තාක්‍ෂණයෙන් හා විශිෂ්ඨ වෘත්තීයමය හැකියාවන්ගෙන් යුතු නාවික පුද්ගලයෙකු ලෙස ඕනෑම ආකාරයක අභියෝගයක් ජයගනිමින් මව්බිමේ නිදහස හා භෞමික අඛණ්ඩතාවය සුරැකීමට සුදානම්ව සිටිය යුතු බව අවධාරණය කරන ලදී.
තවද, පුහුණු කටයුතු සදහා ඇපකැපවී ක්‍රියාකල ශ්‍රීලංනානෞ විදුර ආයතනයේ ආඥාපති ඇතුළු උපදේශක මණ්ඩලයේ සියළු සාමාජිකයන්හට සහ පුහුණු වූ නාවික පුද්ගලයින් ඒ සඳහා ධෛර්යමත් කළ ඔවුන්ගේ පවුල් වල සාමාජිකයන්හට සිය කෘතඥතාවය පල කිරිමට ද නාවික හමුදාධිපති විසින් කටයුතු කරන ලදී.
මෙම ලාංඡන පැළඳවීමේ අවස්ථාව සඳහා නැගෙනහිර නාවික විධානයේ ආඥාපති රියර් අද්මිරාල් සංජීව ඩයස්, අධ්‍යක්‍ෂ ජෙනරාල්වරුන්, නාවික හමුදා මූලස්ථානයේ මෙන්ම නැගෙනහිර නාවික විධානයට අනුයුක්ත ජ්‍යේෂ්ඨ හා කණිෂ්ඨ නිලධාරින්, යුද හා ගුවන් හමුදා ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ නිලධාරීන් මෙන්ම විසිර යන නාවික පුද්ගලයින්ගේ දෙමව්පියන් ඇතුළු පිරිසක් සහභාගිවී සිටියහ.
Commander of the Navy graces Marine insignia awarding ceremony as Chief Guest
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne awarded insignia to 04 officers and 22 sailors of the 07th intake of Sri Lanka Navy Marine, who successfully completed training attached to the amphibious arm of the Navy, at SLNS Vidura in Sampoor on 04th March 2022. The ceremony which was held under the patronage of Commander of the Navy was also attended by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Chandima Ulugetenne.
Established in 2016 with 164 personnel, Sri Lanka Navy Marine has become a formidable force comprising 632 Marines, both officers and sailors, who belong to 07 intakes including the latest one.
Accordingly, the 7th intake which included 33 naval personnel willingly joined this arduous Marine Training conducted over a period of nine (09) months. On successful completion of training 26 naval personnel earned the prestigious Marine Insignia from Commander of the Navy. Commander of the Navy also presented trophies to the naval personnel who excelled in training. As such, Lieutenant PHH Jayathunga (Best Marine & Marine with Highest Aggregate in Overall Subjects, Able Seaman WGA Jeewanka (Best Marksman), Able Seaman EMMD Wijebandara (Best Swimmer) and Ordinary Seaman HMRM Herath (Marine with Best Physical Fitness) received respective awards from Commander of the Navy. The occasion also featured a spectacular display of the Navy Marines’ abilities and talents.
Addressing the new batch of Marines, Commander of the Navy said that they shall be determined to develop skills and knowledge through self-training and study in order to carry out future duties efficiently. He also urged them to be aware of new developments in warfare, conversant with new technology and be professional to overcome any challenge in their dispatch of noble duty to the country.
Besides, Commander of the Navy was grateful to the Commandant and Directing Staff of SLNS Vidura, for their untiring efforts in moulding these Marines, as well as the near and dear ones of the new batch of Marines, for encouraging them to pursue training.
The proceedings of the event were organized adhering to COVID-19 protocols. Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sanjeewa Dias, Director Generals, officers from the Navy Headquarters and Eastern Naval Command, senior officers from sister services and a group of parents of newly passed out Marine personnel were present on the occasion.
