වෙන්නප්පුව මහජන පුස්තකාලය ඩිජිටල් කරණය ශ්‍රී ලංකා තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ නියෝජිතායතනය (ICTA) හා ශ්‍රී ලංකා පුස්තකාල හා ප්‍රලේඛන සේවා මණ්ඩලයේ යටතේ ක්‍රියාත්මකවේ.

ඒ අනුව දිවයිනේ උතුරු නැගෙනහිර ඇතුළු සියලුම දිස්ත්රික් ආවරණය වන පරිදි ජාතික පුස්තකාලය ඇතුළු මහජන පුස්තකාල 25 ක් ආදර්ශ ඩිජිටල් පුස්තකාල ලෙස සංවර්ධනය කෙරේ. මේ වසරේ ජාතික කියවීමේ මාසය ආරම්බ කරමින් වෙන්නප්පුව කිරිමැටියාන ඩිජිටල් පුස්තකාලය ජනගත කිරීම පසුගියදා සිදුවිය.

නවීන ඩිජිටල් යටිතල පහසුකම් හඳුන්වාදීම මගින් ජාතික පුස්තකාල ජාලගත කෙරේ. මෙම පුස්තකාලවල සියලුම ග්‍රන්ථ සුචි තොරතුරු පද්ධතියකට එක්කිරීම තුළින් මහජනතාවට අවශ්‍ය පරිශීලක පොත් පිළිබද තොරතුරු අන්තර්ජාලය ඔස්සේ පරීක්‍ෂා කිරීමේ හැකියාව ලැබේ. ඉදිරියේ දී අවශ්‍ය පොත් කල්තියා වෙන්කරගැනීමට ද පහසුකම් එක්වනු ඇත. මේ සදහා ලෝකයේ වඩාත් ප්‍රචලිත කොහා KOHA විවෘත මෘදුකාංග පද්ධතිය භාවිතා කර ඇත.

මෙම අවස්ථාවට ශ්‍රී ලංකා තොරතුරු හා සන්නිවේදන තාක්ෂණ නියෝජිතායතනයේ ප්‍රධාන ඩිජිටල් නිලධාරි කාංචන තුඩුගල ,ජාතික පුස්තකාල ප්‍රලේඛන සේවා මණ්ඩලයේ සභාපති මහාචාර්ය නන්ද ධර්මරත්න ,අධ්‍යක්ෂ ජනරාල් ඩබ්ලිව් සුනිල් , වෙන්නප්පුව ප්‍රාදේශීය සභා සභාපති සුසන්ත පෙරේරා ප්‍රජා සංවර්ධන කමිටු සභාපති කිත්සිරි අභයවික්‍රම ,ඇතුළු නියෝජිත පිරිසක් එක්වුහ.

Digital Library Launched at Kirimetiyawa, in Recognition of National Reading Month

The Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka recently announced the 25th Digital Library launch at Kirimetiyawa Public Library, Wennapuwa. The initiative is a part of the ‘Digital Libraries’ project launched in collaboration between the National Library and Documentation Services Board (NLDSB) of Sri Lanka. Under this project, twenty-five (25) model digital libraries were established, covering all districts in Sri Lanka.

The project aims to address the rapid changes in reading habits of the ‘modern-day’ readers by providing efficient and quick access to global reading materials efficiently and effectively. Furthermore, the initiative is a part of the broader national digital transformation strategy under the ICTA ‘Digital Government Pillar’ to improve processes, design, and offer library services with citizens’ needs in mind, to serve citizens better to provide a convenient and efficient experience.

One of this project’s key objectives is to introduce an integrated library management system which ensures a user-friendly, advanced, and cost-effective automated solution. The libraries are provided with the widely used ‘Koha’ Integrated Library Management System and modern digital infrastructure.

Furthermore, development includes; access to freely available electronic materials via modern digital devices, a customized integrated library management system to manage all functions and workflows within the library, tablets with access to e-newspapers and e-journals, and tablets with a stylus for children’s creative education. Furthermore, services such as scanning, printing, and photocopying enable users to store information as they wish. A network connects the equipment with high-speed internet.

Mr. Kanchana Thudugala, Chief Digital Government officer of ICTA stated, “it is a timely initiative implemented by ICTA in collaboration with the NLDSB. We thank the NLDSB for collaborating with us on this project. Libraries are the epicenter of enhancing the knowledge of the young generation. Therefore, it is paramount that we ensure our next generation has access to a global knowledge base. The facilities of digitalized libraries ensure children have access to a global knowledge base, foster technology adoption at an early age, and help reduce the digital divide across regions.”

This initiative is one of the many initiatives spearheaded by the Digital Government vertical of ICTA in line with a long-term road map for digitalizing the government sector services. Many projects are underway to create the necessary infrastructure of shared solutions, platforms, technology, and processes to build valuable user-focused services and improve the ease of doing business through policy reforms and integrated services focusing on business needs. Thereby ensuring efficiency when transacting with the government.

தேசிய வாசிப்பு மாதத்தில் வென்னப்புவ கிரிமெடியான பிரதேசத்திற்கு டிஜிடல் நூலகம்!

இலங்கை தகவல் மற்றும் தொடர்பாடல் தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவன (ICTA) மற்றும் இலங்கை நூலக மற்றும் ஆவணவாக்கல் சேவைகள் சபை ஆகியன இணைந்து, வென்னப்புவ பொது நூலகத்தை டிஜிடல் மயப்படுத்தும், டிஜிடல் நூலக நிகழ்ச்சித் திட்டத்தின் ஊடாக நடைமுறைப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

அதற்கிணங்க நாடளாவிய ரீதியில் வடக்கு, கிழக்கு உள்ளடங்கலாக அனைத்து மாவட்டங்களையும் உள்ளடக்கிய வகையில், தேசிய நூலகம் உட்பட 25 பொது நூலகங்கள் டிஜிடல் நூலகமாக அபிவிருத்தி செய்யப்படுகின்றன. இவ்வாண்டின் தேசிய வாசிப்பு மாதத்தை ஆரம்பித்து, வென்னப்புவ கிரிமெடியான டிஜிடல் நூலகத்தை மக்கள் மயப்படுத்தும் நிகழ்வு அண்மையில் இடம்பெற்றது.

இதன்போது நவீன டிஜிடல் உட்கட்டமைப்பினை அறிமுகப்படுத்துவதன் ஊடாக, தேசிய நூலக வலையமைப்பு ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த நூலகங்களில் அனைத்து நூற்பட்டியலின் தகவலை சேமிப்பதன் ஊடாக பொதுமக்களுக்கு அவசியமான பயனர் கையேடு தொடர்பான தகவல்களை இணையத் தளத்தில் பெற்றுக்கொள்வதற்கான வாய்ப்புக் கிடைக்கின்றன.

இதனூடாக எதிர்காலத்தில் அவசியமான புத்தகங்களை காலம் தாழ்த்தியாவது, வகைப்படுத்திக் கொள்வதற்கான வசதிகளும் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன. இதற்காக உலகில் மிகவும் பிரபலமான கொஹா (Koha) எனும் திறந்த மென்பொருள் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றது. அத்துடன் பயனாளிகளுக்கு அவசியமான இலத்திரனியல் தகவல்கள், இலத்திரனியல் புத்தகம் மற்றும் கல்வி உசாத்துணைகள் போன்றவற்றை இந்த டிஜிடல் நூலகத்தில் உட்பிரவேசிப்பதன் மூலம் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளலாம்.

சிறுவர்களின் ஆக்கபூர்வமான திறமைகளை விருத்தி செய்வதற்காக டிஜிடல் கல்வி உபகரணங்களைப் பயன்படுத்துவதற்கான பிரிவொன்றும் இந்நூலகத்தில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும் அவசியமான தகவல்களை ஸ்கேன் செய்தல், அச்சிடுதல் மற்றும் பிரதி எடுத்தல் ஆகிய சேவைகளையும் இந்நூலகத்தில் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளலாம்.

இந்நூலக ஆரம்ப நிகழ்வில் இலங்கை தகவல் மற்றும் தொடர்பாடல் தொழில்நுட்ப அமைப்பின் (ICTA) பிரதான டிஜிடல் அரச அதிகாரி காஞ்சன துடுகல உரையாற்றுகையில்: ‘தேசிய டிஜிடல் அரசாங்க பரிமாற்ற உபாய முறைகளுக்கு ஊடாக, பயனாளிகளுக்கு அரச சேவையை வழங்குவதற்கான தொழில்நுட்ப காரணிகளுக்கு இலகு மற்றும் வினைத்திறனான தீர்வுகளைப் பெற்று கொடுக்கக் கூடியதாக இருப்பது, இந்த டிஜிடல் நூலகம் நிகழ்ச்சியில் முதன்மையானதாகும்.

ஆகவே, இம்முன்னேற்றத்திற்கு தமது ஒத்துழைப்புடன் செயற்படும் நூலக சேவை சபையைத் தான் பாராட்டுவதாகவும் அவர் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

இவ்வாறான டிஜிடல் சேவைகள் பல தற்போது அரச சேவையில் நடைமுறைப்படுத்தப்பட்டு வருவதாகவும், அவை அனைத்தும் வினைத்திறன் மற்றும் பன்முகத் தன்மையுடன் பொது மக்களுக்கு சேவை வழங்கும் நோக்கில் செயற்;படுகின்றன’ எனவும் அவர் மேலும் சுட்டிக்காட்டினார்.

இந்நிகழ்விற்கு இலங்கை தகவல் மற்றும் தொடர்பாடல் தொழில்நுட்ப அமைப்பின் பிரதான டிஜிடல் அதிகாரி காஞ்சன துடுகல, தேசிய நூலக ஆவணவாக்கல் சபையின் தலைவர் போரசிரியர் நந்த தர்மரத்தின, பணிப்பாளர் நாயகம் டப்ளியு சுனில், வென்னப்புவ பிரதேச சபைத் தலைவர் சுசந்த பெரேரா, கிராமிய அபிவிருத்திக் குழுத் தலைவர் கித்சிரி அபயவிக்ரம உட்பட பிரதிநிதிகள் சிலரும் பங்கேற்றமை குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
