ශ්‍රී ලංකාව තුළ විවිධ ක්ෂේත්‍රයන්හි විශිෂ්ටත්වට පත්ව ඇති මැලිබන් බිස්කට් සමාගම එහි පාරිසරික, සමාජීය හා පාලන රාමුව තව දුරටත් පුළුල් කිරීමට කටයුතු කර ඇත්තේ වගකිවයුතු කර්මාන්තකරුවකු ලෙස සිය ස්ථාවරය නැවත නැවතත් තහවුරු කරමිනි.
මේ තුළින් මැලිබන් බිස්කට් සමාගමේ පරිසර හිතකාමී නිෂ්පාදන ක්‍රියාවලිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් ගෝලීය පිළිගැනීමක් ලබා ගැනීමට සමත්ව ඇත.
ශ්‍රී ලංකා දේශගුණ අරමුදල විසින් ලබාදෙන ලද හරිතාගාර වායු විමෝචන විගණන සහතිකය මැලිබන් බිස්කට් සමාගම ලබා ගැනීම තවත් එක් ඉදිරි පියවරකි. මැලිබන් බිස්කට් සමාගමට අමතරව එහි අනුබද්ධ සමාගම් වන මැලිබන් මිල්ක් ප්‍රොඩක්ට්ස් (පුද්) සමාගම, මැලිබන් ඩේරි ඇන්ඩ් ඇග්‍රි ප්‍රොඩක්ට්ස් (පුද්) සමාගම, වොන්ඩර් පැක් (පුද්) සමාගම, ගෝල්ඩන් බේක් (පුද්) සමාගම සහ ලිට්ල් ලයන් ඇසෝසියේට් (පුද්) සමාගම වෙතද මෙම හරිතාගාර වායු විමෝචන විගණන සහතිකය හිමි විය.
මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දැක්වූ මැලිබන් සමූහයේ කළමනාකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂිකා කුමුදිකා ප්‍රනාන්දු මහත්මිය සඳහන් කර සිටියේ “ආරම්භයේ පටන්ම තිරසාර බව හා වගකීම් සහගත ව්‍යාපාරකරණය අපගේ ව්‍යාපාර ආචාර ධර්මයන්හි ප්‍රධාන සාධකයක් වුණා. ලෝකයේ ඉහළම ආහාර සුරක්ෂිතතා ප්‍රමිතීන් සහිත යුරෝපා සංගමය, ජපානය සහ ඒ පිළිබඳ වැඩි අවධානයක් යොමු කරන තවත් කලාප රැසක් ඇතුළුව රටවල් 40කට වැඩි ප්‍රමාණයක මැලිබන් නිෂ්පාදන ජනප්‍රිය වී තිබීම අපගේ නිෂ්පාදන්හි ගුණාත්මකභාවයට මනා නිදසුනක් ලෙස පෙන්වා දිය හැකියි.
සෑමවිටම වගකීම් සහගත හා තිරසාර ක්‍රියාවලියකින් යුතු නිෂ්පාදනයක් පාරිභෝගිකයා වෙත ලබා දීමට කටයුතු කරන අප, හරිතකරණය ඉහළ නැංවීම සහ හරිතකරණ ඉහළ නැංවීම සඳහා අක්කර 300කට අධික බිම් ප්‍රමාණයක නිෂ්පාදන සඳහා අවශ්‍ය වගාවන් සිදු කර තිබෙනවා. ඒ තුළින් සැලකිය යුතු කාබන් ප්‍රමාණක් පරිසරයට එකතු වීම අවම කරමින් ද්‍රව්‍යමය හා ප්‍රමාණාත්මක වශයෙන් කාබන් විමෝචනය අවම කිරීමට අපට හැකි වී තිබෙනවා. මෙය අපගේ තිරසාර ව්‍යාපාර ගමනෙහි තවත් සුවිශේෂී සංධිස්ථානයක් සනිටුහන් කරන අතරම එය තව දුරටත් ඉදිරියට ගෙන යමින් පරිසරයට මෙන්ම අපගේ පාරිභෝගික ප්‍රජාවට හිතකර ආකාරයෙන් ගුණාත්මක නිෂ්පාදනයක් ලබා දීමට අපි කැපවී කටයුතු කරන බව මේ මොහොතේ සඳහන් කිරීමට කැමතියි.” යනුවෙනි.
ශ්‍රී ලංකා දේශගුණ අරමුදල විසින් විගණනය කරල ලද මෙම සහතිකය මැලිබන් සමූහයට හා එහි සියලුම අනුබද්ධ සමාගම්වලට අදාළ වන අතර ඒ තුළින් ජාත්‍යන්තර වශයෙන් පිළිගත් මාර්ගෝපදේශ සහ අවශ්‍යතාවයන්ට අනුකූලව තිරසාර හා පරිසර හිතකාමී පිළිවෙත් අනුමනය කිරීමට අදාළ සමාගම් සතු කැපවීම අවධාරණය කරනු ලබයි.
මැලිබන් සමූහ ප්‍රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී රවී ජයවර්ධන මහතා තම කර්මාන්ත ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ ප්‍රථම හරිතාගාර වායු විමෝචන විගණන සහතිකය ලබා ගැනීම පිළිබඳව අදහස් දක්වමින් සඳහන් කර සිටියේ මෙවැන්නකි. “වසර 70කට ආසන්න කාලයක් තිස්සේ අපි ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයින්ට මෙන්ම ලොව පුරා පාරිභෝගිකයින් වෙත හොඳම අමුද්‍රව්‍යවලින් නිෂ්පාදිත ඉහළම තත්වයේ ගුණාත්මක බිස්කට් හා ඒ ආශ්‍රිත නිෂ්පාදන ලබා දීමට කටයුතු කර තිබෙනවා. අද වන විට අපගේ නිෂ්පාදන ක්‍රියාවලීන් සඳහා විධිමත් ආකාරයෙන් පාරිසරික, සමාජීය වගකීම් පිළිබඳ ප්‍රමිතීන් හා යාන්ත්‍රණයන් ඇතුළත් කිරීමට කටයුතු කර තිබෙනවා. මේ තුළින් පරිසරයට සිදුවන බලපෑම අවම කරමින් අපගේ පාරිභෝගිකයින් වඩාත් ප්‍රිය කරන ඉහළම තත්වයේ නිෂ්පාදන තුළින් ඔවුන්ගේ මුවගට සිනාවක් එක් කිරීමට අපි කටයුතු කරනවා. විශේෂයෙන් ISO 14064-1:2018 පදනම් කරගත් හරිතාගාර වායු විමෝචන විගණන සහතිකය හිමිකර ගැනීම අපගේ ආයතනික සමාජ වගකීම් වැඩසටහන්හි සාමාන්‍ය අරමුණු ඉක්මවා යන්නකි. එසේම පාරිසරික කාර්ය සාධන දර්ශකයන් ඉහළ නැංවීම සඳහා කාබන් විමෝචනය අවම කිරීමේ උපාය මාර්ග සකස් කිරීම හා අනුගමනය කිරීම විශිෂ්ට ව්‍යාපාරකරණය වෙනුවෙන් වන අපගේ සොයා ගැනීම් තව දුරටත් ඉදිරියට ගෙන යන්නක්. එය කර්මාන්තයේ නියුතු අනෙකුත් ආයතනයන්ටත් කදිම ආදර්ශයක් සපයන බව නොඅනුමානයි.”

Maliban Goes Green with Its 6 Subsidiaries Receiving Carbon Footprint Certification
Sri Lankan diversified business group, Maliban has invested heavily in broadening its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework, while solidifying its position as a responsible industry stakeholder.
These efforts have brought the Organization global recognition, with regard to its eco-friendly manufacturing processes, with the Maliban Group of Companies now having received Carbon Footprint Certification for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions, from the Sri Lanka Climate Fund. The Group companies that have received Carbon Footprint Certification include Maliban Biscuit Manufactories (Pvt.) Ltd, Maliban Milk Products (Pvt.) Ltd, Maliban Dairy & Agri Products (Pvt.) Ltd, Wonder Pak (Pvt.) Ltd, Golden Bake (Pvt.) Ltd, Little Lion Associates (Pvt.) Ltd.

The Sri Lanka Climate Fund is an independent, government-owned organization functioning under the purview of the Ministry of the Environment and is an accredited organization having international recognition to grant carbon footprint certification to industry and trade against the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard.
