නීති විරෝධී ලෙස මුහුදු මාර්ග ඔස්සේ මෙරටින් විදෙස් රටකට සංක්‍රමණය වීමට උත්සහ කළ බවට සැකකෙරෙන පුද්ගලයන් 12 දෙනෙකු නාවික හමුදා භාරය විසින් පසුගිය 22 වනදා සිදුකළ විශේෂ සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුමකදී, අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.

මුහුදු මාර්ග ඔස්සේ සිදු කෙරෙන නීති විරෝධි කටයුතු මැඩ පැවැත්වීම සඳහා මෙරට මුහුද සහ වෙරළ තීරය ආවරණය වන පරිදි නාවික හමුදාව නිරන්තර මුර සංචාර හා සෝදිසි මෙහෙයුම් සිදු කරනු ලබයි.

නීති විරෝධී ලෙස මුහුදු මාර්ගයෙන් මෙරටින් විදෙස් රටකට සංක්‍රමණය වීම සඳහා රැඳී සිටි බවට සැකකෙරෙන වයස අවුරුදු 18 ට වැඩි පිරිමි පුද්ගලයන් දෙදෙනෙකු (02), කාත්තාවන් තිදෙනෙකු (03) සහ වයස අවුරුදු 18 ට අඩු අයවළුන් හත්දෙනෙකු (07) ඇතුළු පුද්ගලයන් දොලොස් දෙනෙකු (12) නාවික හමුදා භාරයට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.

ඒ අනුව, නාවික හමුදා භාරයට පත් පුද්ගලයින් පිරිස වෙඩිතලතිව් ප්‍රදේශයේ පදිංචිකරුවන් බවට හඳුනා ගන්නා ලද අතර, එම පිරිස ඉදිරි නීතිමය කටයුතු සඳහා මන්නාරම පොලීසිය වෙත භරදීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.

තවද, ජාවාරම්කරුවන් විසින් මුදල් ඉපයීමේ පරමාර්ථයෙන් අනාරක්‍ෂිත යාත්‍රා යොදා ගනිමින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලබන මිනිස් ජාවාරම් වලට හසුවී, නීති විරෝධී ලෙස මෙරටින් සංක්‍රමණය වීමට උත්සහ කර තම ජීවිතය අවධානමකට පත්කර ගැනීමෙන් සහ නීතිය ඉදිරියේ වරදකරුවෙකු වීමෙන්ද වළකින ලෙස නාවික හමුදාව මහජනතාව වෙත අවධාරණය කරනු ලබයි.

 

 

 

Navy apprehends 12 would-be illegal immigrants in Mannar

 

The Navy apprehended 12 persons who are suspected to be on an illegal migration attempt to a foreign country via sea. The apprehension was made during a special operation conducted in the beach area of Oluthuduwai, Mannar on the night of 22nd September 2022.

 

Sri Lanka Navy conducts regular search operations and patrols in coastal as well as sea areas around the island to thwart illegal activities stemming from sea routes. In a similar operation conducted by SLNS Gajaba in the North Central Naval Command, this group of would-be illegal immigrants was nabbed, whilst they were suspiciously wandering in the Oluthuduwai beach area in the dark hours on 22nd September. Among the apprehended persons were 02 males and 03 females over 18 years and 07 more individuals who are below 18 years of age.

 

The persons held during the special operation were identified as residents of Vedithalathiv area. The suspects were handed over to the Mannar Police for onward legal proceedings.

In the backdrop where human smugglers organize this nature of rackets for the purpose of making fast money, the Navy urges the public to refrain from risking their lives by engaging in such activities and be victims before the law.
