තිස්ස වැවේ රොන්මඩ ඉවත් කරන්නේ චීන හමුදාවෙන් නෙමෙයි – ආරක්ෂක ලේකම්
තිස්සමහාරාමය තිස්ස වැවේ රොන්මඩ ඉවත් කිරීම් සිදු කරන්නේ විදේශ සමාගමක සේවක පිරිසක් බවත් ඉදිරියේදී එවැනි ඇදුම් ඇඳීමෙන් වලකින ලෙස ශ්රී ලංකාවේ චීන තානාපති කාර්යාලයට ආරක්ෂක ලේකම්වරයා දැනුම් දී ඇත.
පසුගියදා මාධ්‍ය මගින් වාර්තා කර තිබුනේ දැනට සිදුකරමින් පවතින ව්‍යාපෘතියට අදාළ පෞද්ගලික සමාගමට අයත් චීන ජාතික සේවකයින්, හමුදා කැලෑ නිල ඇඳුමින් සැරසී සිටි බවයි.
නමුත් එම ඇඳුම, අදාල විදේශ සමාගමේ සේවකයින් අඳින ඇඳුමක් වන අතර ඔවුන් මහජන චීන විමුක්ති හමුදාවට අයත් නොවන අයවලුන් බව ආරක්ෂක ලේකම් ජෙනරල් කමල් ගුණරත්න ශ්රී ලංකාවේ චීන තානාපති කාර්යාලය සනාථ කරන ලදි.
තවද, ඉදිරියේදී එවැනි ඇඳුම් ඇඳීමෙන් වළකින ලෙස අදාල ආයතනය දැනුවත් කරන ලෙස ආරක්ෂක ලේකම්වරයා විසින් ශ්රී ලංකාවේ චීන තානාපති කාර්යාලය වෙත දැනුම් දී ඇති අතර ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍යාංශය විසින් මෙවැනි තත්වයන් මින් ඉදිරියට නැවත ඇතිවීම වැළැක්වීමට පියවර ගන්නා ලෙස අදාල දේශීය පෞද්ගලික ආයතනයද දැනුවත් කර ඇත.
තවද, එවැනි ඕනෑම උත්සාහයක් වැළැක්වීමට කටයුතු කරන ලෙස ආරක්ෂක ලේකම් ජෙනරල් කමල් ගුණරත්න (විශ්‍රාමික) විසින් දකුණු පලාත් ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ නියෝජ්‍ය පොලිස්පති වෙත උපදෙස් ලබා දී ඇත.
Press release on wearing military uniforms by Chinese company employed staffers in Tissamaharamaya
Circulation of information on the ongoing project to remove silt in the ‘Tissawewa’ tank in Tissamaharamaya, run by a private company, manning Chinese employees who were reportedly wearing controversial military style camouflage uniforms has been highlighted in the media.
The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka, following a query made by the Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd), has affirmed that the said employees are not members of the People’s Liberation Army and it is the respective overseas company’s overall uniform entitled to the staffers.
Further, the Defence Secretary has informed the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sri Lanka, to educate the respective employer to refrain its employees from wearing the controversial military style camouflage uniforms in future and the Ministry of Defence also informed the local private company to avoid the recurrence of such action henceforth.
Furthermore, Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) has directed the Southern Province Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police to thwart any further attempt of such nature.
