මෙරට රෝහල් තුල කොවිඩි 19 අසාධිත රෝගීන් සඳහා අවශ්ය ඔක්ෂිජන් ධාරීතාවය අඛණ්ඩව පවත්වා ගැනීම සඳහා ඉන්දිය රජයෙන් ඇණවුම් කරන ලද සායනික ඔක්ෂිජන් තොගයක් මෙරටට රැගෙන ඒම සඳහා ශ්රි ලංකා නාවික නෞකා ශක්ති නෞකාව අද ( 17) ත්රිකුණාමලය වරායෙන් ඉන්දියාවේ චෙන්නායි වරාය බලා පිටත් විය.
පවත්නා වසංගත තත්වය හමුවේ මෙරට රෝහල් තුල ඔක්ෂිජන් ධාරිතාවය නිසි ලෙස පවත්වා ගැනීම සදහා ඇනවුම් කරන ලද සායනික ඔක්ෂිජන් මෙරටට රැගෙන ඒමේදී වරායන් තුල සිදු විය හැකි ප්රමාදවීම් වළක්වා ගැනීමේ අරමුණෙන් ජනාධිපති, ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ මහතා විසින් නාවික හමුදාධිපති වයිස් අද්මීරාල් නිශාන්ත උළුගේතැන්න වෙත එම සායනික ඔක්ෂිජන් නාවික හමුදාව මගින් රැගෙන එන ලෙස උපදෙස් දෙන ලදි.
ඒ අනුව, ශක්ති නෞකාව 18 පස්වරුවේදී ඉන්දියාවේ චෙන්නායි වරාය වෙත ලඟා වීමට නියමිතව ඇත.
තවද, මෙම සේවාව අවශ්යතාවය අනුව අඛණ්ඩව පවත්වාගෙන යාමට නාවික හමුදාව කටයුතු කරනු ලබන අතර, රටේ ඇති වන ඕනෑම හදිසි තත්වයකදී සිය ශඛ්යතාවයන් කාර්යක්ෂමව සහ ඵලදායිව යොදවා අවශ්ය දායකත්වය ඉදිරියටත් නොපමාව ලබා දිමට නාවික හමුදාව නිරන්තර සුදානමින් සිටි.
SLNS Shakthi leaves for India for shipment of medical oxygen to Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Shakthi left the Trincomalee harbour for the Port of Chennai, India this morning (17th August 2021) for a shipment of medical grade oxygen to Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the ship will take the delivery of the above item ordered from the Indian government, in order to maintain the required medical grade oxygen stocks for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the island.
With a view to preventing possible delays in the ports in bringing the medical grade oxygen to the country, His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa directed Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne to make arrangements to transport those items by Sri Lanka Navy. Responding swiftly to the directives of the President, Sri Lanka Navy dispatched landing ship tanker SLNS Shakthi to the port of Chennai this morning, to take the freight home urgently.
Accordingly, the naval ship is scheduled to arrive port of Chennai, India by tomorrow evening (18th August 2021). Further, the Navy will continue to go ahead with this service as required and stands ready at all times to apply itself at will, with an unwavering spirit to respond to any emergency situation in the country.
