මාදම්පේ කටුපිටි ඔය පිටාර ගැලීමෙන් පීඩාවට පත් ජනතාවට නාවික හමුදාව සහන සලසයි
දිවයිනට බලපා ඇති අයහපත් කාලගුණික තත්වය හේතුවෙන් ඇද හැලෙන අධික වර්ෂාපතනය හමුවේ පුත්තලම, මාදම්පේ කටුපිටි ඔය පිටාර ගැලීමෙන්, හේනේපොල ප්‍රදේශයේ ඇති වී ඇති ජල ගැලීම් තත්වය මත පීඩාවට පත් ජනතාවට සහන සැලසීම සඳහා නාවික හමුදා සහන කණ්ඩායමක් විසින් ඊයේ (26) දින සිදු කර තිබේ.
පුත්තලම දිස්ත්රික්කයේ මාදම්පේ ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාශය ඔස්සේ ගලා බසින කටුපිටි ඔය පිටාර ගැලීමෙන් හේනේපොල ග්‍රාම නිලධාරී වසම වෙත පිවිසෙන සියලු පිවිසුම් මාර්ග ජලයෙන් යටවී ඇති බවත්, ඒ හේතුවෙන් එම ග්‍රාම නිලධාරී වසමේ පවුල් විසි හතක (27) පුද්ගලයන් අසූ නව (89) දෙනෙකු පීඩාවට පත්ව ඇති බැවින්, ඔවුන්ගේ එදිනෙදා කටයුතු සඳහා අවශ්‍ය සහන සැලසීම සඳහා, පුත්තලම දිස්ත්රික් ආපදා කලමාණාකරන මධ්‍යස්ථානය වෙතින් කෙරුණු ඉල්ලීමකට අනුව, නාවික හමුදා සහන කණ්ඩායමක් මෙලෙස මාදම්පේ ප්‍රදේශය වෙත අනුයුක්ත කෙරිනි.
ඒ අනුව, නාවික හමුදා සහන කණ්ඩායම විසින් අද (27) පෙරවරුවේ පාසල් ළමුන් ඇතුළු ප්‍රදේශවාසීන් හට නාවික හමුදා යාත්රා මඟින් අවශ්‍ය ප්රවාහන පහසුකම් ආරක්ෂිතව සලසා දීමට කටයුතු කෙරුණු අතර, එම ප්‍රදේශයේ අඛණ්ඩව සහන සැලසීමේ මෙහෙයුම් සිදුකරමින් සිටියි.
තවද, දිවයිනට බලපා ඇති අයහපත් කාළගුණික තත්වය හමුවේ පීඩාවට පත්වන මහජනතාව වෙත කඩිනමින් සහන සැලසීම සඳහා, නාවික හමුදාධිපති වයිස් අද්මිරාල් ප්‍රියන්ත පෙරේරා ගේ උපදෙස් මත සියළුම නාවික විධානයන් ආවරණය වන පරිදි නාවික හමුදාවේ සහ වෙරළාරක්‍ෂක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ සහන කණ්ඩායම් 41 ක් නාවික හමුදාව විසින් තවදුරටත් සූදානමින් තබා ඇත.
Navy deploys relief teams to aid people in distress with overflowing Katupiti Oya, Madampe
Due to the recent heavy rainfall across the country, the Henepola area has been flooded by the overflowing Katupiti Oya in Madampe, Puttalam. In response to the situation, the Navy dispatched a flood relief team to the area on May 26, 2024. The relief team is currently working in full swing to assist those affected by floods.
Due to the overflow of Katupiti Oya, which flows through the Madampe Divisional Secretariat, all access roads to the Henepola Grama Niladhari Division have been flooded. In this backdrop, 89 individuals from 27 families faced distress, prompting the Disaster Management Centre in Puttalam to seek assistance from the Navy. In response, the Navy swiftly dispatched a flood relief team to aid those affected by floods.
Today (27th May), the Navy relief team organized safe transportation for local residents, including school children, using Navy boats. Meanwhile, the relief operations in the area are ongoing.
Following directives from the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the Navy has kept 41 relief teams ready from both the Navy and the Coast Guard across all Naval Commands to provide immediate assistance to the affected public.
