දැනට සෞඛ්‍ය පරිසාධන මට්ටමේ නොසිටින පොලිස් නිලධාරීන්ගේ සේවය අවසන් කිරීම පිළිබඳව මහජන ආරක්ෂක කටයුතු පිළිබඳ අමාත්‍යාංශයීය උපදේශක කාරක සභාවේදී අවධානය යොමු විය.
මේ පිළිබඳ අවධානය යොමු වූයේ මහජන ආරක්ෂක කටයුතු පිළිබඳ අමාත්‍යාංශයීය උපදේශක කාරක සභාවේ පළමු රැස්වීම එහි සභාපති අමාත්‍ය ගරු ටිරාන් අලස් මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් පසුගියදා (20) පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේදී රැස්වූ අවස්ථාවේදී ය.
මෙහිදී පැමිණ සිටි මන්ත්‍රීවරු පැවසුවේ යහපත් සෞඛ්‍ය මට්ටමේ නොසිටින බෙහෝ පිරිසක් පොලිස් සේවයේ සිටින බවත් ඔවුන් වෛද්‍ය සහතික පෙන්වා අපහසු රාජකාරීන්වල නොයෙදෙන බවත්ය. නමුත් මෙම ඇතැම් නිලධාරීන් එසේ සෞඛ්‍ය අපහසුතාවන්ගෙන් නොපෙළෙන බවද මේ නිසා නිරතුරුවම රාජකාරිය නිවැරදිව ඉටුකරන නිලධාරීන් අපහසුතාවට පත්වන බවද ඔවුහු පෙන්වා දුන්හ.
මේ අනුව පොලිස්පතිවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ සෞඛ්‍ය පරිසාධන මට්ටමේ නොසිටින පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් 4000ක් පමණ මේ වන විටත් පොලිස් සේවයේ සිටින බවයි.
මෙහිදී අමාත්‍ය ටිරාන් අලස් මහතා උපදෙස් දුන්නේ සෞඛ්‍ය පරිසාධන මට්ටමේ නොසිටින පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් සේවයෙන් ඉවත් කිරීම පිළිබඳව අවශ්‍ය යෝජනාව පොලිස් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවෙන් සකස්කොට අමාත්‍යාංශයට යොමු කරන ලෙසයි. ඒ අනුව ඉදිරියේදී එය ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට කටයුතු කරන බවද හෙතෙම පැවසීය.
එසේම මෙම වසරේ විශාල පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් පිරිසක් විශ්‍රාම යන බවත් එබැවින් පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් 16000 ක පමණ පුරප්පාඩු ප්‍රමාණයක් මේ වසරේ ඇති වන බවද පොලිස්පතිවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ ය.
මෙම කාරක සභාව සඳහා රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යවරුන් වන ජගත් පුෂ්පකුමාර, ලොහාන් රත්වත්තේ, ශාන්ත බණ්ඩාර, මොහාන් ප්‍රියදර්ශන ද සිල්වා, ජානක වක්කුඹුර පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරුන් වන මධුර විතානගේ, මහින්දානන්ද අලුත්ගමගේ, චන්දිම වීරක්කොඩි, චින්තන අමල් මායාදුන්න, ඩී. වීරසිංහ, අසංක නවරත්න, (වෛද්‍ය) ගයාශාන් නවනන්ද සහ උපුල් මහේන්ද්‍ර රාජපක්ෂ යන මහත්වරු සහභාගී වූහ.
The Ministerial Consultative Committee focuses on the termination of service of police officers who have not fulfilled required medical standards
The Ministerial Consultative Committee on Public Security focused on terminating the service of police officers who have not fulfilled required medical standards.
The attention was drawn to this at the first meeting of the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Public Security held in Parliament recently (20) under the chairmanship of Minister of Public Security Hon. Tiran Alas.
The Members of Parliament who were present said that there are many officers in the police service who are not in good health condition for a long time and they do not engage in difficult duties following the submission of medical certificates. It was discussed at the meeting that some of these officers are not suffering from health problems and because of this, officers who are always performing their duties properly are getting inconvenienced.
Thus, the Inspector General of Police pointed out that there are about 4000 police officers who are not at the standard level of health condition for a long period of time. Accordingly, Minister Hon. Tiran Alas advised that the police department should prepare the necessary proposal regarding the removal of police officers who are not at the standard level of health condition for a long period of time and send it to the ministry.
Also, the Inspector General of Police pointed out that a large number of police officers will retire this year and therefore there will be vacancies of about 16000 police officers this year.
Also, there was a discussion on the reported incidents of police officers using drugs. Also, the committee focused on the implementation of the law regarding character assassination using the internet.
Also, the current situation of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, the Department of Registration of Persons, the Department of Immigration and Emigration the National Secretariat for Non-Governmental Organizations was also discussed.
