මන්නාරම, වංකාලේ වෙරළ ප්රදේශයේ අද ( 15) සිදු කළ විශේෂ පාමුර සංචාරයකදී කේරළ ගංජා කිලෝ ග්රෑම් 47 ග්රෑම් 100ක (තෙත බර සහිත) පමණ තොගයක් නාවික හමුදා භාරයට ගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.
උතුරු මැද නාවික විධානයට අයත් ශ්රී ලංකා නාවික නෞකා ඵුස්සදේව ආයතනය මගින් මන්නාරම, වංකාලේ වෙරළ ප්රදේශයේ අද උදෑසන සිදු කළ මෙම විශේෂ පාමුර සංචාරයේ දී එම වෙරළ තීරයේ තිබී පාර්සල් 20ක් තුල අසුරන ලද කේරළ ගංජා කිලෝ ග්රෑම් 47 ග්රෑම් 100ක (තෙත බර සහිත) පමණ තොගයක් නාවික හමුදා භාරයට ගන්නා ලද අතර, නාවික හමුදා මෙහෙයුම් හේතුවෙන් මෙම කේරළ ගංජා තොගය ජාවාරම් කරුවන් විසින් මෙලෙස අතහැර දමා යන්නට ඇතැයි විශ්වාස කෙරේ.
තවද, නාවික හමුදා භාරයටගත් මෙම කේරළ ගංජා තොගයේ දළ විථි වටිනාකම රු.මිලියන 14කට ආසන්න වෙතැයි විශ්වාස කෙරේ.
කොව්ඩ් -19 ව්යාප්තිය වැළැක්වීමේ සෞඛ්යාරක්ෂිත ක්රමවේදයන්ට අනුකූලව සිදු කළ මෙම මෙහෙයුම මගින් නාවික හමුදා භාරයට ගත් කේරළ ගංජා තොගය උතුරු මැද නාවික විධානයේ අධික්ෂණය යටතේ ගිනි තබා විනාශ කිරීමට නියමිතය.
Navy takes hold of Kerala cannabis worth approx. Rs. 14 million in Vankalai, Mannar
Sri Lanka Navy took hold of about 47kg and 100g (with wet weight) of Kerala cannabis, during a special foot patrol conducted in Vankalai beach area, Mannar this morning (15th September 2021).
Incidentally, a special foot patrol conducted by Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Pussadewa in the North Central Naval Command in the beach area of Vankalai this morning (15th September) made way for the recovery of this stock of Kerala cannabis weighing about 47kg and 100g with wet weight. The consignment was in 20 packages which were believed to have been left behind at the beach by smugglers due to naval operations in the area.
Meanwhile, the street value of the haul of Kerala cannabis is believed to be approx. Rs. 14 million.
The operation was carried out in compliance with COVID-19 protocols in force, to prevent the spread of the pandemic. Further, the consignment of Kerala cannabis will be set on fire and destroyed, under the supervision of the North Central Naval Command.
