ඕස්ට්‍රේලියාවෙන් මෙරටට බහුදින යාත්රා නිරීක්ෂණ පද්ධතියක්
සමුද්‍රීය ආරක්ෂාව සඳහා ඉවහල් වන බහුදින යාත්රා නිරීක්ෂණ පද්ධතියක් ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු රජය ශ්රී ලංකාවට ප්‍රදානය කර ඇත බව ජනාධිපති මාධ්‍ය අංශය පවසයි.
නීති විරෝධි මසුන් ඇල්ලීම වැළැක්වීම, දේශ සීමා හා ඉන්දීය සාගර කලාපයේ ආරක්ෂාව, යාත්රා මගින් කෙරෙන මිනිස් සහ මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය ජාවාරම වැළැක්වීම, අනතුරට පත්වන යාත්රා හඳුනාගෙන, ධීවරයන් මුදා ගැනීමට මෙම නිරීක්ෂණ පද්ධතිය බෙහෙවින් ඉවහල් වනු ඇතැයි ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු මහ කොමසාරිස් ඩේවිඩ් හොලි මහතා සඳහන් කළේය.
යාත්රා වල සවි කෙරෙන සම්ප්‍රේෂක (Transponders) 4200ක්, නිරීක්ෂණ මධ්‍යස්ථානයක් සඳහා වු උපාංග හා සැටලයිට් තාක්ෂණ පහසුකම් සහිත නිරීක්ෂණ පද්ධතියේ වටිනාකම ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු ඩොලර් මිලියන 5.38ක් වන අතර යාත්රා නිරීක්ෂණ මධ්‍යස්ථානය ධීවර ජලජ සම්පත් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව යටතේ පිහිටුවීමට නියමිතය.
මෙහි පළමු සම්ප්‍රේෂක (Transponders) කට්ටලය අද (16) පෙරවරුවේ ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලයේ දී ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු මහ කොමසාරිස් ඩේවිඩ් හොලි මහතා විසින් ජනාධිපති ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ මැතිතුමා වෙත සංකේතාත්මකව භාර දෙනු ලැබිණ.
2015 වසරේදී සවිකර, මේ වන විට අක්‍රීයව පවතින මෙවැනි සම්ප්‍රේෂක 1,250ක් බහුදින යාත්රා සතුය. එම යන්ත්‍ර යාවත්කාලීන කිරීමට සහාය වන ලෙස ධීවර අමාත්‍ය ඩග්ලස් දේවානන්ද මහතා කළ ඉල්ලීම ඉටු කිරීම කෙරෙහි මහ කොමසාරිස්වරයාගේ අවධානය යොමු විය.
ජනතාව කේන්ද්‍ර කරගත් ආර්ථික ප්‍රතිපත්තිය ශක්තිමත් කරගනිමින් ජාත්‍යන්තර තත්ත්වයන්ට අනුව මත්ස්ය හා ධීවර ආශ්‍රිත අපනයන ක්රියාවලිය ඉහළ නැංවීමට මෙම නිරීක්ෂණ පද්ධතිය බෙහෙවින් ඉවහල් වනු ඇතැයි සංක්‍රමණය සඳහා වන ජාත්‍යන්තර සංවිධානයේ ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ප්‍රධානී සරත් දාස් මහතා විසින් සඳහන් කරනු ලැබිණ.
සුවිශේෂී භූගෝලීය පිහිටීමක ඇති ශ්රී ලංකාවේ සමුද්‍රීය ආරක්ෂාවට නිරීක්ෂණ පද්ධතියේ ඇති වැදගත්කම ජනාධිපතිවරයා පෙන්වා දෙනු ලැබීය.
විදේශ අමාත්‍ය දිනේෂ් ගුණවර්ධන, ධීවර රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය කංචන විජේසේකර, ජනාධිපති ප්‍රධාන උපදේශක ලලිත් වීරතුංග, විදේශ ලේකම් අද්මිරාල් ජයනාත් කොළඹගේ යන මහත්වරු, අමාත්‍යංශ ලේකම්වරු, ආරක්ෂක අංශ ප්‍රධානීහු, ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු මහා කොමසාරිස් කාර්යාලයේ සහ ධීවර හා ජලජ සම්පත් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව ඇතුළු ආයතනවල නිලධාරීහු මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්ව සිටියහ.
A multi-day cruise monitoring system from Australia to Sri Lanka
The Australian Government has gifted a multi-day cruise monitoring system to Sri Lanka to facilitate maritime security, the Presidential Media Unit said.
Australian High Commissioner David Holly said the monitoring system would help prevent illegal fishing, protect the border and the Indian Ocean region, prevent human and drug trafficking by vessels, identify vulnerable vessels and rescue fishermen.
The vessel monitoring system, valued at A $ 5.38 million, will be set up under the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources with a value of A $ 5.38 million, equipped with 4,200 vessel-mounted transponders, equipment for a monitoring center and satellite technology.
The first set of Transponders was symbolically handed over to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa by Australian High Commissioner David Holly at the Presidential Secretariat this morning (16).
Installed in 2015, the multi-day vessel has 1,250 such transmitters, which are currently inactive. The High Commissioner drew attention to the request made by Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda to assist in updating the machines.
Mr. Sarath Das, Head of the International Organization for Migration, Sri Lanka, said that this monitoring system would go a long way in strengthening the people-centered economic policy and enhancing the fish and fisheries-related export process in line with international standards.
The President pointed out the importance of the monitoring system for the maritime security of Sri Lanka, which has a unique geographical location.
Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of External Affairs, Kanchana Wijesekera, Minister of State for Fisheries, Lalith Weeratunga, Chief Adviser to the President, Admiral Jayanath Colombage, Secretary to the Ministry, Secretaries to Ministries, Heads of Defense, Australian High Commission and officials from the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Department.
