කොතලාවල විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පනත මගින් රටට හා දෙමාපියන්ට අහිමිවන මුදල් ඉතිරි කරන්න පුළුවන් බව ජනපති පවසයි
උසස් අධ්‍යාපනය සඳහා තම දරුවන් විදේශ රටවලට යැවීමෙන් රටට සහ දෙමව්පියන්ට අහිමි වන විශාල මුදල ඉතිරි කරගැනීමට නම් කොතලාවල විශ්වවිද්‍යාලට ඇති බාධා ඉවත් කිරිමට කටයුතු කල යුතු බව ජනාධිපති ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පවසයි.
ජනාධිපතිවරයා මේ බව පැවසුවේ බෞද්ධ උපදේශක සභාව ඊයේ (16) පස්වරුවේ 11 වෙනි වතාවට ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලයේ දී රැස්වූ අවස්ථාවේදය.
එහිදී කොවිඩ් මර්දනයට එන්නත්කරණය ඇතුළුව රජය ගෙනයන වැඩපිළිවෙළ සහ කොතලාවල ආරක්ෂක විශ්වවිද්‍යාල පනත සම්බන්ධයෙන් ජනාධිපතිවරයා මහා සංඝරත්නය දැනුවත් කරයි.
ජනවාරි මස 28 වන දින ඇස්ට්‍රාසෙනිකා පළමු එන්නත් තොගය ලැබීමේ සිට මේ දක්වා ලද සියලුම එන්නත් ලැබීම් සහ දිස්ත්‍රික්ක මට්ටමින් දිවයින පුරා ක්‍රියාත්මක කළ එන්නත්කරණ වැඩපිළිවෙළින් අගෝස්තු මාසය අවසන් වීමට පෙර වයස අවුරුදු 30ට වැඩි සියලු දෙනාට එන්නත් මාත්‍රා දෙකම ලබාදී අවසන් කළ හැකි බවට ජනාධිපතිවරයා විශ්වාසය පළ කළේය. එමෙන්ම දළදා පෙරහර මංගල්‍යයට පෙර මහනුවර දිස්ත්රික්කයේ එන්නත්කරණය අවසන් කිරීමට අපේක්ෂා කෙරේ. ලෝක සෞඛ්‍ය සංවිධානය මෙරට එන්නත්කරණ ක්රියාවලිය ඇගයීමට ලක්කර ඇති අතර එන්නත්කරණයෙන් දකුණු ආසියාවේ ඉදිරියෙන්ම සිටින රට බවට ශ්රී ලංකාව පත්ව ඇතැයි ජනාධිපතිවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.
රටේ අනාගතය සඳහා ගනු ලබන ප්‍රතිපත්තිමය තීරණවලට ඇතැම් පිරිස් විචාරයකින් තොරව එරෙහි වීම අනාගත පරපුරට කරන බලවත් අසාධාරණයක් බව රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.
කොතලාවල ආරක්ෂක විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය වසර 40ක කාලයක් පුරා මෙරටට අවශ්‍ය විද්වතුන් විශාල සංඛ්‍යාවක් දායාද කර ඇති බවත් උසස් පෙළ ඉහළින්ම සමත් වන දරුවන් පවා කොතලාවල ආරක්ෂක විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය සිය උසස් අධ්‍යාපනය සඳහා තෝරාගැනීමට දැඩි උනන්දුවකින් පෙළඹී සිටින බවත් ජනාධිපතිවරයා පැවසීය.
උසස් අධ්‍යාපනය සඳහා තම දරුවන් විදේශ රටවලට යැවීමෙන් රටට සහ දෙමව්පියන්ට අහිමි වන විශාල මුදලක් ඉතිරි කරගැනීමට නම් ඉහළ ප්‍රමිතියෙන් යුත් මෙවැනි විශ්වවිද්‍යාල රට තුළ බිහිවීමේ අවශ්‍යතාවත් ජනාධිපතිවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.
විශ්වවිද්‍යාල ප්‍රතිපාදන කොමිෂන් සභා පනතේ ඇති බාධා ඉවත් කර කොතලාවල ආරක්ෂක විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය ඒ යටතට ගෙන එන බව ද ජනාධිපතිවරයා සඳහන් කළේය.
කොවිඩ් මර්දනය සඳහා ආරම්භයේ සිටම ජනාධිපතිවරයා ප්‍රමුඛ රජය ගෙනගිය වැඩපිළිවෙළ ඇගයීමට ලක් කළ මහා සංඝරත්නය කොතලාවල ආරක්ෂක විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය සම්බන්ධයෙන් වූ අරමුණු පිළිබඳව ජනතාව දැනුවත් කර සමාජය තුළ පැතිර යන වැරදි මතවාද වැළැක්වීමට පියවර ගැනීමේ අවශ්‍යතාව ද පෙන්වා දුන්හ.
බෞද්ධ උපදේශක සභාවේ සාමාජික මහා සංඝරත්නය, ජනාධිපති ප්‍රධාන උපදේශක ලලිත් වීරතුංග, අමාත්‍යාංශ ලේකම්වරු හා රාජ්‍ය නිලධාරීහු බෞද්ධ උපදේශක සභා රැස්වීමට සහභාගී වූහ.
President says the Kotelawala University Act can save money lost to the country and parents
President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has said that steps should be taken to remove obstacles to Kotelawala universities in order to save the country and parents from losing large sums of money by sending their children abroad for higher education. The President said this when the Buddhist Advisory Council met for the 11th time yesterday (16) at the Presidential Secretariat.
The President briefed the Maha Sangha on the government’s program to control Kovid, including vaccinations, and the Kotelawala Defense University Act.
The President expressed confidence that all the vaccines received from the first batch of AstraZeneca on January 28 and the district-wide vaccination program implemented at the district level would be completed before the end of August by giving both doses of both vaccines. Also, vaccination is expected to be completed in the Kandy District before the Dalada Perahera. The President pointed out that the World Health Organization (WHO) has praised Sri Lanka’s vaccination process and that Sri Lanka has become one of the leading countries in South Asia in vaccination.
Mr. Rajapaksa pointed out that the uncritical opposition of certain groups to policy decisions taken for the future of the country is a grave injustice to future generations.
The President said that the Kotelawala Defense University has gifted a large number of scholars to the country over the past 40 years and even students who pass the GCE Advanced Level examination are eager to choose the Kotelawala Defense University for their higher education.
The President also pointed out the need to establish such high quality universities in the country in order to save a large amount of money lost to the country and parents by sending their children abroad for higher education.
The President also stated that the obstacles in the University Grants Commission Act will be removed and the Kotelawala Defense University will be brought under it.
The Maha Sangha commended the President and the government for their efforts to suppress Kovid from the outset and pointed out the need to educate the public about the objectives of the Kotelawala Defense University and to take steps to prevent the spread of misconceptions in the society.
Members of the Buddhist Advisory Council, the Maha Sangha, Chief Adviser to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Secretaries to Ministries and Government Officials attended the meeting.
