කාබනික පොහොර භාවිතය සඳහා ජනාධිපති ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ මහතා කටයුතු කළේ ඊළඟ මැතිවරණය බලාගෙන නොව රටට ඇති ආදරය නිසා බව මහජන ආරක්ෂක අමාත්ය රියර් අද්මිරාල් ආචාර්ය සරත් වීරසේකර මහතා පවසයි.
අමාත්යවරයා මේ බව පැවසුවේ කාබනික පොහොර වගාව සඳහා යොදා ගැනීමට කටයුතු කිරීම සම්බන්ධව අදාල නිලධාරීන් සහ ගොවීන් දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනකට පසුගියදා කොළොන්නාව ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේදී එක්වෙමින්.
අමාත්යවරයා පැවසුවේ ජනාධිපතිවරයා මෙම තීරණය ගෙන ඇත්තේ ක්ෂණිකව හෝ කාගේවත් කීමකට නොවන බවයි. මෙම රසායනික පොහොර භාවිතය නිසා විශාල ව්යසනයක් ලංකාවට වන බවත් වකුගඩු රෝගීන් පිළිකා රෝගීන් සංඛ්යාව මෙම රසායනික පොහොර භාවිතය නිසා වැඩි වී ඇති බවත් මතු පරපුරේ පරපුරේ ආරක්ෂාව උදෙසා ගත් තීරණාත්මක තීරණයක් බවත්ය.
මෙම අවස්ථාව සඳහා කොළඹ දිස්ත්රික් සංවර්ධන කමිටු සභාපති ප්රදීප් උදුගොඩ කොළඹ දිසාපති ප්රදීප් යසරත්න සහ අජිත් සුභසිංහ යන මහත්වරුන්ද මෙම රැස්වීමට සහභාගි වීය.
Rear Admiral Dr. Sarath Weerasekera, Minister of Public Defense says that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa used organic fertilizer not out of anticipation of the next election but out of love for the country.
The Minister said this while participating in an awareness program for the relevant officials and farmers regarding the use of organic fertilizer for cultivation at the Kolonnawa Divisional Secretariat recently.
The Minister said that the President had taken this decision not immediately or at anyone’s discretion. He said that the use of this chemical fertilizer would cause a great disaster to Sri Lanka and that the number of kidney patients and cancer patients had increased due to the use of this chemical fertilizer and it was a crucial decision taken for the protection of future generations.
Mr. Pradeep Udugoda, Chairman, Colombo District Development Committee, Mr. Pradeep Yasaratne, Government Agent, Colombo and Mr. Ajith Subhasinghe also participated in this meeting.
