ඇමරිකානු නාවික හමුදාවට අයත් ‘USS CHARLESTON (LCS – 18)’ යුද නෞකාව, 11 වන දින පෙරවරුවේ ත්‍රිකුණාමලය වරායට සේන්දු විය. ශ්‍රී ලංකා නාවික හමුදාව විසින් එම නෞකාව නාවික හමුදා සම්ප්‍රදායානුකුලව පිළිගැනීමට කටයුතු කෙරිණි.

මෙලෙස ත්‍රිකුණාමලය වරායට සේන්දු වූ Independence – Class Littoral Combat Ship වර්ගයේ යුද නෞකාවක් වන ‘USS CHARLESTON (LCS – 18)’ නෞකාව, දිගින් මීටර් 127.4 ක් හා නැව් මුළුව 100 ක ගෙන් සමත්විත වන අතර, එහි අණදෙන නිලධාරී ලෙස කොමාණ්ඩර් Lamson, A.A කටයුතු කරනු ලබයි.

‘USS CHARLESTON (LCS – 18)’ නෞකාවේ අණදෙන නිලධාරී සහ ස්චේච්ඡා නාවික හමුදාවේ හා නැගෙනහිර නාවික විධානයේ ආඥාපති, රියර් අද්මිරාල් ධම්මික කුමාර අතර නිල හමුවක් නැගෙනහිර නාවික විධාන මුලස්ථානයේ දී සිදු කෙරුණු අතර, එහිදී ද්වීපාර්ශ්වීය වශයෙන් වැදගත් කරුණු පිලිබඳ දෙපාර්ශ්වය අතර අදහස් හුවමාරුවක් සිදුකෙරුණි.

අද දින (12) පෙරවරුවේ ‘USS CHARLESTON (LCS – 18)’ නෞකාව දිවයිනෙන් පිටත්ව යන ලද අතර, එම අවස්ථාවේදී නාවික හමුදා සම්ප්‍රදායානුකුලව සමුදීම සිදුකෙරිණි.

 

 

 

USS Charleston (LCS – 18) arrived at the Port of Trincomalee departs the island

 USS Charleston (LCS – 18) of the U.S. Navy arrived at the Port of Trincomalee on the morning of 11th March 2023. Upon her arrival, the ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval tradition.

 USS Charleston (LCS – 18) is a 127.4m long Independence – Class Littoral Combat Ship manned by 100 crew members and the ship is commanded by Commander Lamson, A.A.

 The Commanding Officer of the visiting ship called on the Commander Eastern Naval Area and Commandant Volunteer Naval Force, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara at the Eastern Naval Command Headquarters on 11th March. During the cordial discussion, they exchanged views on several matters of bilateral importance.

 Meanwhile, USS Charleston (LCS – 18) departed the island this morning (12th March). At her departure, the Navy bade customary farewell in accordance with naval tradition.
