ආරක්ෂක ඇමැති හා තුර්කි තානාපති අතර හමුවීමක්
ශ්රී ලංකාවට හා මාලදිවයිනට තුර්කි තානාපති ඩෙමේට් ශෙකිර්ජිඕලු හා මහජන ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍ය රියර් අද්මිරාල් ආචාර්ය සරත් වීරසේකර මහතා අතර හමුවක් පසුගියදා සුහුරුපාය මහජන ආරක්ෂක අමාත්‍යංශයේදී පැවැත්විණ.
එම සාකච්ඡාවේදී මෙරට හා තුර්කිය අතර අතීතයේ සිට පැවතෙන වැදගත් සංස්කෘතික සබඳතා දෙරටේ මිත්‍රත්වය වර්ධනය කිරීමට හේතු වූ ආකාරය ගැන සාකච්ඡා කෙරෙණි.
තවද දෙරට අතර ආර්ථික දේශපාලන හා ආරක්ෂක සබඳතා වර්ධනය කරගැනීමට ඇති අවස්ථා සම්බන්ධයෙන්ද සාකච්ඡා කෙරිණ. තුර්කි රාජ්‍ය ශ්රී ලංකාවේ අභිවෘද්ධිය උදෙසා ඉදිරියටත් සහාය දෙන බව තානාපතිනිය මෙහිදී සඳහන් කර සිටියේය.
A cordial meeting took place between the Hon. Minister Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekara and Her Excellency Rakibe Demet Şekercioğlu the Ambassador of Turkey to the Maldives and Sri Lanka, at the Ministry of Public Security in Suhurupaya.
The Honourable Minister and the Ambassador deliberated on the significant, historical and cultural relationship that continues to exist between Sri Lanka and Turkey; which has aided in reinforcing the friendship and good relationship between both nations.
The Minister and Her Excellency discussed opportunities in which bilateral cooperation in terms of economic affairs, defence and politics could be further developed to mutually benefit both states. Her Excellency, additionally expressed Turkey’s continued support and solidarity in furthering the growth and development of Sri Lanka.
The Meeting which was held on the 17th of February 2022 was carried out as a customary diplomatic courtesy to further fortify the already unassailable bilateral cooperation that continues to exist between the two states
